Can I box after having two septoplasty procedures?

I had two Septoplasty surgeries in the past. I really want to box in Israel when i study abroad for a year. I really need to know is boxing ok? Can my break my nose easily since i had these two past surgeries? My nasal bone pops, and click when i move my nose around.

You are at an increased risk for nasal fractures and I would not advise boxing. All The Best !

Thanks for your question. Unfortunately your nose will be at somewhat increased risk to damage having had two prior septoplasty surgeries. Often The septal cartilage is slightly weaker after a septoplasty surgery. This will have no bearing on your nasal bones, meaning your risk of a broken nose is the same as anyone else, however you may be at slightly increased risk for displacing your septum again. Hope this helps.

Your nose is more fragile since you had two septoplasty surgeries in the past. As such, you have a higher risk of causing injury to your nose with boxing. If you want to avoid another surgery, you may want to consider giving up boxing.

After septoplasty, the nose is certainly more fragile than a nose that had not had surgery. If you do fracture your nose, it may be more difficult to fix since cartilage was likely removed at your surgeries. Maybe find a different sport!
