Starting 30mg Accutane, can I continue with electrolysis on my face?

Hello, I need advice that can be backed up with a publication that I would like access to or any resources that confirm research. I am starting on 30mg of Accutane. I have spent the last year committed to electrolysis on my face and it’s been life changing. I am getting conflicting information from dermatologist and electrolysist as well as answers on this forum as to the safety of receiving electrolysis while on Accutane. Dermatologist one month post Accutane start , Electrolysist 6-12 months.

Accutane is a go-to medication for patients with recalcitrant cystic acne. It can reduce pore size and also reduce sebum production in your skin, making it less oily; and in turn, dryer. Accutane can be used to control acne, but patients receiving the medication should be carefully monitored. In terms of skincare, always wear an appropriate sunscreen and reduce direct sun exposure. In my patients, I recommend a good ceramide moisturizer such as Elevase whenever they are on Accutane. This will keep the skin hydrated and reduce the oiliness of the skin that is associated with oil-based moisturizers.

The exact recommended waiting period can vary, but many experts suggest waiting at least six months after finishing Accutane before undergoing treatments like electrolysis. This allows the skin time to recover and reduces the risk of potential scarring or other skin damage.
