How long before fractional co2 should one stop the use of retin A?

Question

I usually mix my retin A with some moisturizer (so it is not full strength), could I continue using it at night up to a week before the procedure? My second question is: is fraxional co2 truly a LOT safer than the old co2 with regards to risks of any change in pigmentation? (I have olive skin). Thank you in advance for your answers;)

I usually recommend to stop it 3-5 days before the laser treatment, but it all depend on your type of skin or the condition/issue your are trying to improve. Make sure you consult a trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist.

I ask my patients to stop using Retin A at least 72 hours before we perform the CO2 and not to resume it for 4 - 6 weeks afterwards.  The fractional CO2 definitely has less risk than the fully ablative CO2 does.  However, the darker your skin, the more chances you have of pigment changes with any laser.  I assume you are getting the procedure done by a physician who specializes in aesthetic medicine.  I would discuss your concerns with them.
