I would contact your doctor to find out if you are able to move on to tray #15. Each tray has a specific amount of tooth movement programmed into it. Two days is most likely not enough to achieve this. Your doctor will know specifically what movements were planned in tray #14. You may be able to get a replacement tray for #14 or your doctor may give you the OK to move on to #15. Wearing #13 in the meantime would actually move the teeth back a step. Good luck! Dr. Pam
Great question--you should go back to the previous aligners and let your dentist know and they can order you a replacement set of aligners for a small fee
You should try to skip up to the next tray and wear it for three weeks rather than two. If gets sore, use Tylenol. Do not use Advil or Aspirin. They will actually slow movement. If 15 just doesn't fit, go back to 13 and call your dentist. They can get a replacement for 14. There will be a fee involved. Be sure to use your cases when the aligners are not in your mouth.
I would say in my office, I would recommend the patient to move to tray 15 and keep it for 2 weeks instead of one and get the lower arch catch up. Although every case is different and it is better to confirm the protocol with your existing orthodontist. Good luck. Impressions orthodontics.
Dear NathanL,Thank you for posting your question on Real Self. I will do my best to answer your question to the best of my ability with the information given. I recommend going back to number 13 in this case and call you doctor to schedule an appointment with them. They will determine whether you can move to the next aligner or order a new #14.I hope this helps and good luck!Best,Dr. Jenn
You should only be switching aligners every week if you are using the acceledent. Otherwise they need to be worn for 2 weeks. It causes a lot of problems when you switch too soon. So, ask your doctor to order the lost aligner to replace it. There will be a small charge.
If you are late on changing your aligners, there is no harm. This will only mean that your treatment is now a couple days delayed, and the day you switch your aligners in the future will be different.
You are asking questions as a dentist that would best be discussed with the patient present to examine.
Dear ItsNat,I will do my best to answer your question with the information given. My best advice is to address this with your orthodontist as he has your X-rays and knows the history to better determine if the tooth is erupting or if something else is going on. Invisalign could possibly...
