Hair growth after hair pulled ripped out! What are my options? (Photo)

I shampooed my hair and noticed my hair was tangled-under further inspection I noticed it was matted (imagine a dredloc or hair glued together) I went to a hairstylist & she said she can untangle it but I will lose a lot of hair-which I died. My hair is MUCH thinner & some sections of my hair is super short. Was there so much trauma to my hair that it won't regrow & if not, what are some things I can do to expedite my hair regrowth? I currently take biotin pills (5,000 mg)

It may take up to full year before you see results.   Hair loss from an isolated pull/ traction is not likely permanent.

In general, sudden or "acute" injury to hair that happens in the manner you described generally has excellent outcome. Hair regrowth will occur over many months provided you have no other reasons for hair loss or thinning. There is nothing that can speed up this growth. Hair grows 1 cm per month and there is nothing that can acclerate this. The prognosis for regrowth is excellent but full regrowth (of length) can take 2 years as hair can only grow about 15 cm or so per year.

A single hair pulling episode will not permanently impact the hair on your head. You can expect the hair that was pulled out to come back in about 8 months. This is for only one such bout of hair pulling
