A physician recommended I try progesterone cream to combat MPB as opposed to Finasteride. What are the long-term side effects?

I am male, 25 yrs old and am experiencing MPB. Went to a local surgeon and suggested I take progesterone cream. What are the side effects? Are all progesterone creams created equal?
