Is it possible to get warts from laser hair removal? Are the machines dirty?

Laser treatment handpieces should be properly cleaned between each patient treatments.  I have unfortunately seen patients who developed warts, mollusca and herpes virus outbreaks after laser sessions, typically at spa salons.  It's important to seek out a reputable place for safe and effective therapy.

Anything that touches a patient's skin during any treatment such as laser hair removal should be properly cleaned between each patient's treatment. There should therefore be no risk of transmitting any communicable diseases such as warts during these treatments.

The machines and treatment handpieces should be properly cleaned after each treatment. If you go to a place that you sense is dirty, don't get your treatment there, in general. Laser hair removal should not be done on patients who have an active herpetic outbreak as it can make that outbreak worse.
