Somewhat recently my forehead has developed a vertical line that often appears to be a vein but at other times seems to be an indentation. Is this something that can be addressed with Botox? Fillers? Something else?
Answer: Botox and fillers to resolve this problem This can be initially addressed with Botox injections. Botox will cause the skin of the forehead to stretch a little and this will minimize the indentation. If it is still visible after botox injections it can be filled with blended fillers(Voluma or Volbella).

Answer: RE: treat vertical vein/line in forehead Hello, This is Dr. Hong from Seoul, Korea. After reviewing the photos, I noticed the following:In the first picture, there is a clearly visible vein.In the second and third pictures, it appears that veins and muscle contours are mixed together.Based on my experience with similar cases, I must be honest—achieving a perfectly smooth result, particularly in the vascular area, can be challenging. However, we can significantly improve the appearance with a combination of treatments. I recommend using Botox to address the muscle contours and movement, and complementing this with forehead fat transfer. By placing the fat over the veins and under the skin layer, we can reduce the prominence of the veins, making them less visible. This approach will also create a smoother and more youthful forehead contour. I hope this helps guide you in making the right decision for your treatment. Warm regards,Dr. Hong

Answer: Artful fillers may be considered. You may be correct that the bulge in your forehead is the supratrochlear artery and vein that may have become visible with time. If that is the case, depending on your examination, microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections maybe considered for filling in the grooves next to the artery for a less visible appearance. If the indentations become deeper when you frown, a trial of Botox to your glabella wouldn't be a bad place to start. I hope this helps, and I wish you well moving forward. Sincerely, Dr Joseph

Answer: Effective Treatment Options for Vertical Forehead Lines: Botox, Fillers, and More Vertical lines or veins on the forehead can be addressed using several cosmetic treatment options, depending on their cause and appearance. Here are some potential solutions: Botox: If the line is due to muscle movements, Botox (botulinum toxin) can help relax the muscles, reducing the appearance of dynamic lines. This treatment is effective for lines that appear when you make facial expressions. Dermal Fillers: If the line appears more like an indentation, dermal fillers can be used to add volume and smooth out the area. This approach is suitable for static lines that are visible even when the face is at rest. Laser Therapy: For lines that are associated with visible veins, laser treatments might help by reducing the appearance of the veins and improving skin texture. Microneedling or Chemical Peels: These treatments can stimulate collagen production, improving skin texture and reducing fine lines. It's essential to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who can evaluate your specific condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your skin type and the characteristics of the line. They can tailor a treatment plan to help achieve the desired results safely and effectively.
