Should I wear my trays longer than 2 weeks? How will I know if they need more time to work?

I am supposed to change to my 3rd tray in 4 days and the trays I am in still feel tight. I am using the chewy tubes (not everyday but I try). I am reading about how loose the trays feel on others before the 2 weeks are up. I am 47 years old. Does the process take longer in older people?

Hi there, As a general rule if aligners are being worn for the recommended 22hrs/day then 14 days is sufficient. They should still feel quite snug at the end of 2 weeks wear but you should not necessarily feel pressure. If the aligners are seated in completely then they are likely tracking on fine.Always consult with your doctor to be sure.

See how it feels in 4 days.  Not every aligner will feel the same throughout your treatment.  Invisalign recommends 22 hours of usage daily.  Make sure you are wearing the aligners for the proper amount of time.  If there is still pressure after your 2 week period, consult your doctor.
