Got dark spots 3 days after laser hair removal on face (photo #1) now these spots have been fading into red marks. I am now 16 days after the original procedure (see photo #2). Yesterday, I started using some Retin A on the red spots and have a ton of resulting dryness. Looking for thoughts and help on what I should do?!

Answer: In the first picture it seemed to me that you experienced hyperpigmentation, but second picture shows that this is resolving.
Thank you for your question. Yes, you can have hair transplant in an area that has had laser hair removal. I recommend having a consultation with an expert in to determine the best treatment plan for you.
This can happen after laser hair removal, but will improve with more treatments. Keep in mind it will take a series. I typically have patients do every 4 weeks for the first 3 times and then every 4-6 weeks for 3 times after. See an expert in laser hair removal for best results. Best, Dr. Emer

Katie- thanks for your question. The YAG is a 1064nm wavelength and is best for darker skin types. From your description, you would benefit most from treatments with an ALEX (or Alexandrite) 755nm wavelength which is best for lighter skin types with dark hair.
