Could Invisalign help my severe overjet? (photos)

I am 32 and have not yet visited an orthodontist regarding my teeth. I'm not interested in traditional braces, but am considering asking about Invisalign. Before I pay for a consultation I'm wondering if I can get advice about whether I am a good candidate? Thanks very much.

Many orthodontists will recommend you extract upper bicuspids to correct your overjet. This would be a tremendous mistake. If you extract upper bicuspids you will have to retract your upper incisor teeth to fill the spaces and eliminate the overjet. This will cause your nose to look bigger, your upper lip to look smaller, your face to look longer and narrower and could also adversely affect your TMJ and airway health. Your upper jaw is NOT too far forward but rather your lower jaw is slightly too far back. Your upper jaw is slightly underdeveloped; which is more than likely what is causing your lower jaw to be retruded.A MUCH BETTER treatment would be to develop your upper dental arch and then bring your lower arch forward. Developing your upper arch is easy with a removable dental appliance. Bringing your jaw forward can also be accomplished with a removable appliance or with surgery. An alternative treatment would be to do IPR (interproximal reduction) on the upper front teeth to eliminate the overjet. This way you are not creating an excess of space by extracting healthy teeth so you don't have to over retract upper anterior teeth. I would still recommend developing the upper dental arch before doing any IPR.Good luck!

u have around 6mm overjet. your molar relation is not visible but i feel u have class 2 molars. by extracting only upper 2 premolars u will get ideal overjet and over bite. yes, u can go for  invisalign .
