6 mo post op, breasts appear closer together - could It be symmastia and what can I do to prevent further change? (photos)

I am worried My breasts are slowly getting closer together.. This is causing my cleavage to look my square in the middle and cause denting at certain angles. Do you think I am developing symmastia? Is there anyway i can prevent it from getting worse? I am currently exactly 6 months post op. I feel like my breasts are getting worse with time.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

You do not look like you are at risk for synmastia.  Don't wear things that press your implant flat against your chest.  You can wear a bra that separates the breasts.

I do not think that you are showing current signs of symmastia as there is a distinct adhesion zone visible in between the two breasts with appropriate definition of the borders of the implant. As the implants exert forces on the surrounding tissues, the initial appearance of the implants will change. You will notice final position at 6-12 months. I would follow up with your original surgeon to discuss.

I don't feel that you have symmastia. This is the condition when the breast implants pocket tear through the muscle or soft tissue and the implant pockets become one allowing the implants to touch together. There appears to be a small separation between your breasts in the last photo. It really shouldn't get any worse. With time the implants will drift to the side because of gravity and the weight of the implant. It would always be best to ask your surgeon and have an in-person exam to confirm. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your question.As a beginning this is not a symmastia, your breasts are very close to each other. There is small irregularity in the midline and it will not be getting worse after 6 moths. Best Luck!

It is quite possible that you are progressing towards symmastia. Youy should avoid using bra for some time, if possible, to prevent pushing implants more medially. Placing some sort of spacer that will separate breasts (role of gauze, soft silicone) may also help. There is also a symmastia bra, which we did not found particularly useful. If you are not satisfied with current situation, which is not symmastia, you should seek a surgical solution by means of further implants separation using a mesh. It would be in your best interest to discuss this issue with your surgeon or seek a second opinion. Good luck.

I think you have a great result. Some prefer breasts close together and others further apart but they tend to do their own thing based on your anatomy. You definitely do not have synmastia

You are fine for now and do not have symmastia, but I would not encourage wearing bras that push your breasts together. Your implants are a bit large for your frame and next time, go smaller.

From the submitted photos you are not showing signs of symmastia.  At six months post op the tissues have softened and swelling has resolved.  This may be why you are noticing the changes.  If you are concerned visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.
