Treatment for Vein on Lower Lip?

Question

I have a visible vein on my lower lip.  It is not large, but is visible when I am not wearing lipstick.  I would like to have it treated so it is not visible.  What is the best and easiest method of treating it?

It would be best to be seen for an accurate answer, but if it is a blue bleb or venous lake, the long pulsed Nd:YAG 1064nm has been very effective for us with a single treatment.  Rarely will we have to treat them again.  If they are discrete veins, then either the laser or sclerotherapy would be effective.  See an experienced, qualified vein specialist who has all options available for the best care.

Veins on the lip should be treated with long pulse lasers such as the 532 nm KTP laser. Repeat treatments may be necessary.

This is a common problem, I believe you are referring to a venous lake.

	There are a couple ways of treating this.

	1. Sclerotherapy (injection) of a medicine to close the vein. This works quite well but sometimes requires a few treatment sessions.

	2. Laser Therapy with a Pulsed Dye Laser.  This will also take a few sessions as it becomes smaller in size with each treatment.

If the vein is large enough, an injection with a very small needle may work. I would need to look at it to be sure.
