Just had a mole removed. Best way to minimize scarring? (photo)

I just had a mole removed on my lower leg today. I currently have a band-aid covering it, but I wanted to know how I should care for it in order to minimize scarring, as I do scar easily. My dermatologist gave me an information sheet telling me to keep it covered for 10 - 14 days, but is there anything else I can do?

I don't recommend trying to remove this on your own. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. This can be removed with lasers, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your inquiry and photo.  Moles can become irritated and inflamed for a number of reasons.  I recommend seeing a dermatologist for evaluation of the mole and possible biopsy. Best, Dr. Hure.
