Will insurance cover my Latisse?

I have psoriasis and it has caused me to lose a lot of my hair including my eyelashes and eyebrows and was wondering if by asking my dermotologist for a prescription will my insurance company cover it?

Thank you for your question and I am sorry to hear of your hair loss issues.  Unfortunately Latisse for hair growth is considered cosmetic and will not be covered by your insurance company as it is not "medically necessary."

Unfortunately Latisse is considered cosmetic and insurance will not cover it.  You may want to set up an appointment with a doctor that might be able to offer alternatives to Latisse that possibly would help.

Hi - I'm sorry you are going through this. Because insurance companies consider increasing the growth of eyelashes and eyebrows cosmetic, they are unlikely to cover the cost of the medication. Often there are coupons available to lower the cost of Latisse. Many patients love it and are willing to pay out-of-pocket for the medication. Please discuss the hair loss with your dermatologist - he or she may suggest other treatment options. It's also possible that controlling your psoriasis will lead to regrowth, if psoriasis was the trigger. Good luck!
