Will Lumigan (Latisse) continue to shrink the fat cells until there is no fat around the eyes?

Hello. I'm a female of 25 years old and want longer eyelashes. One of the side effects of Lumigan(Latisse) is the sunken eyes. My eyes are naturally puffy and I thought I wouldn't mind loosing SOME fat around my eyes BUT I don't want to end up with sunken/hollow eyes! I know this happens to patients with glaucoma and use bimatoprost. I think it's worse for people that have sunken eyes naturally. Do the bimatoprost continue to shrink the fat cells until there is no fat at all around the eyes?

One of the side effects of britamoprost is fat atrpphy around the eye.  However, this medicine is put directly into the eye and therefore has more exposure to the fat.  Latisse is only a topical solution and care should be taken to keep it out of the eye.  For this reason complete fat atrophy would be extremely rare.

this side effect is very rare. I have 1000s of patients on this medication with no complications and fillers can be used if this were to happen to improve this area.  Best, Dr. Emer.
