Will Retin-A affect the Nexplanon implant I've had in my arm for almost a year now?

I have the nexplanon implant in my arm for almost a year now and recently I started using Retin-A for my acne. Does the Retina-A decrease the effectiveness of the implant?

The retin-a should have no effect on your birth control.  It is fine to use it with implants, IUDs, and oral contraceptives.   If you want to check with your prescriber, that would be great.  Best of luck!

Hello and thank you for your question. With topical medications, you typically do not have to worry about systemic effects since there is minimal systemic absorption.
