My gums swell and bleed after wearing my retainer, what should I do?

I had root canal treatment 6years back. I'm 22 year old. One year back i had orthodontic treatment, where i had no issues regarding my gums. After wearing retainer my gum start to swell and bleed even though i clean my retainer regularly and the retainer also properly fitted. Please help me

There are different kinds of retainers. So first give me the type of retainer provided by your orthodontist, so that I can guide you better accordingly.

Have you changed what you use to clean your retainer?  Are you only using products that are safe to use in the mouth?  Be sure to only use mouthwashes and/or denture/retainer cleansers.  Using straight up full-strength hydrogen peroxide, for example, can be too strong on your gums and can cause bleeding.
