PRP and other treatments for thin upper orbital skin? (Photo)

Thank you for posting this question and your picture. The area just between the eyes and the nose is a very common site where patients complain of hollowness and dark pigmentation. The skin here is very thin and there really is nothing but cartilage under this thin skin. When we try to fill this space with fat, it often does not stay because there is no space and not enough blood supply to support the fat. Fillers can leave a "bubble" like appearance and there is high risk of the Tyndall effect giving off a bluish discoloration when HA fillers are used. PRP or PRF are safe enough to inject here but the collagen stimulation is very minimal because there is no skin to stimulate. Placing a small amount of PRF gel with a cannula has been the most promising technique for this problem and it usually needs to be repeated about 3 times before we can get the effect to stay.
