The way my mouth rests I constantly look sad or upset. Can this be surgically fixed?? Please help
Answer: You can turn your frown upside down with a corner of the mouth lift. Hello,Thank you for your question. I have reviewed your photos. You actually have full beautiful lips. I understand that your chief concern is that the outer corners of your upper lip turn slightly downward. This can be reversed with a corner lip lift surgery. This relatively minor surgery can be performed in the office procedure room using local anesthesia. A corner of the mouth lift involves carefully removing a wedge of skin, a triangular piece of skin, approximately 1cm long on each side. When closed with fine interrupted sutures, it actually turns the corners of the mouth in an upward direction. This is a relatively permanent procedure. The scar once healed is virtually imperceptible. The resulting scar is located at the vermillion border which is the border which separates your upper lip proper from the upper lip skin. The procedure takes approximately 45 minutes and typically results in satisfied patients. If you would like additional information regarding this procedure, please do not hesitate to contact my office. I would be more than happy to explain it further.Best regards,Dr. Ryan Mitchell

Answer: Pull up corners with lip lift The technique I recommend is an extended lip lift. This technique resects more skin laterally than centrally and allows the corners to be pulled up. It also shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip and increases the incisor show. Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Downturned Smile / Permanent Frown -- Combination of Fillers, Botox/Dysport/Jeuveau, RF Treatments (Thermage, Venus Legacy) A downturned smile or permanent frown can be improved with a combination approach, including neuromodulators (such as Botox, Dysport, and Jeuveau), injectable fillers, and radiofrequency skin tightening treatments such as Thermage or Venus Legacy. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist to develop a treatment plan that works for you. Best, Dr. Emer.
