I have lab created porcelain veneers that were put in yesterday and I’m feeling VERY uncertain about them. Granted, I had very small teeth before, but these look very large and fake to me. I go in for a checkup next week to see if I want any adjustments made to the length. I’m battling with knowing if I like them AT ALL. I regret not doing more research before the procedure and looked at photos before selecting a dentist. Any recommendations at this point?
Answer: Unhappy with bulky #veneers #DreamDentist Unfortunately, there is very little your can do at this point, besides have them redone. You mentioned that you now realize how important it is to research the doctor first, but you may have skipped that step. I would suggest working with your dentist to request a possibly redo. I hope this helps and feel free to click to follow me below, if you may have additional questions for me.Dr. Sarah ThompsonSt. Louis, MO and O'Fallon, IL

Answer: Veneers that look like veneers First let me tell you that you have a beautiful smile. It is so upsetting to have cosmetic dental work performed that doesn’t meet expectations. In my office all patients have the opportunity to view porcelain work before we cement it into place to assure satisfaction. I think you need to voice your concerns to see how your dentist responds. They may be willing to remake for a discounted fee or even free. You need to be thrilled with your result so you can smile confidently.

Answer: Talk with your dentist Like to see a photo of your teeth prior to these veneers to compare, but if you don’t like them, that’s all it matters. Talk with your dentist to see what he can do to redo them. Adjusting length won’t correct your concerns. If your dentist isn’t willing then I’m afraid you’ll need to buy news ones with another dentist.

Answer: Veneers Hey Fearless, Love the email address! I'm so sorry that you do not like your veneers because they should change your life for the better by making you so very happy that you smile at literally everyone. The problem here is quite common which is a poor understanding of tooth proportion. Teeth should have a very specific width relative to one another. For example the lateral incisor should by 80% the width of the central. Also teeth should be six parts tall by five parts wide. Also teeth should not be thick. Yours look thick. But don't despair. Often veneers can be reshaped by a dentist who does understand proportions; so yours most likely will not need be remade, only reshaped and polished. If you are ever anywhere near Chicago, I can explain more about proportions and aesthetics.
