The problem with surgical implants, as I have written about many times before, is that, while the carrot of a permanent solution is often offered, the reality is that since the surrounding and underlying muscle, fat and bone change with aging, the actual benefits of the implant surgery may be lost in five or ten years (necessitating removal surgery and some measures, as in this case, to improve the resulting situation). Happily, there are a number of robust HA fillers that can be used to restore the sagging area. Make sure to consult a board certified cosmetic dermatologist and ask to see his/her personal B&As before agreeing to proceed. Best of luck. And for readers who are contemplating surgical implants, it would be wise to seriously take in the foregoing before going ahead.
