I have a long philtrum which is about 20mm. I think it’s got a longer in the past few years both because of aging and because I have to use a mouthguard for my tmj. This makes my upper lip and top philtrum bulge out and thus the skin stretch and the top lip turn in a bit. I think this problem might mean that the same thing would happen with a lip lift and so a lip flip would be regularly. Is this right? Could I do regular lip flips forever? Or would a lip lift be better. Thanks.

A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. You would benefit from a lip lift.

If you want more volume and fullness to your lips, fat transfer makes the most sense vs a lip lift. A lip lift is a procedure specifically to shorten philtrums (with the added benefit of revealing more of the top lip) so yes, it's most appropriate for people with long philtrums.

You may be a candidate for a lip lift. A lip lift does 4 things: shortens the distance between your nose and upper lip, increases the mucosa of the upper lip, increases the incisor show and pulls up the corners. Your upper lip is full and will look even fuller.
