Second hair transplant to increase density? Is my hairline okay? (Photos)

Question

Hi Docs, I had a hair transplant two months ago. I insisted to get more density for my hairline. However, my doctor said it shouldn't be too dense or too low, otherwise I'd look weird. So I had 1250 grafts transplanted. This is the result. I know 2 months is too early to judge but I compared the other pictures I found online, I think my density is a bit low. Do you also think my hairline is too sparse? Can/should I get a second hair transplant to fix this after 1-2 years? Thanks !

Hi, density is one of the most critical factors after hair transplantation. Early on you may not be able to fully determine your density. Density depends on various factors including the number of hairs per cm squared, the thickness and vibrancy of hair, direction and design of hair. Techniques for density vary from surgeon to surgeon. In my office, we utilize a specialized technique that allows for optimizing density and found it to be helpful. Best, Dr. Anil Shah

It takes 6 to 12 months to see the results of a hair transplant surgery. You can't judge the results after only two months.  Your density will never be "full" as you once had it with only one surgery.

Multiple hair transplants spread at least 8 months apart are ok, but wait 8 months to see better than 80% of the growth, not 2 months.
