Will glycolic acid bleach my skin?

I'm a black female with dark spots (PIH) on my cheeks. I want to start using a glycolic acid serum but I read that'll bleach my skin and I do not want that to happen. I just want my spots to fade. Any suggestions ?

Thanks for your query. Glycolic peels lighten the skin. It comes in various strengths. 70 % glycolic acid peel is a strong peel and should be used only by a dermatologist. There is a high chance that you might have burnt the skin. It is advisable to visit a dermatologist as soon as possible....
