Do I qualify for Invisalign express (10)? (Photos)

Question

Hello! I used to have braces 6 years ago, but my teeth shifted after wearing my retainers irregularly. I went to an Invisalign consultation, and the doctor said I could qualify for the 10 month treatment but may also qualify for the full treatment. May I get more opinions on this? Thanks!

Hi Angela,Thank you for posting your question.  The best way to know what option is better is to get a clincheck made.  It is a virtual representation of what is possible and will let you know how many aligners are needed to achieve the desired result.  This way you get to see what will happen before you actually do the treatment.  Hope this helps!  Good Luck!

With Invisalign express, its major limitation is that there is no refinement option after 10 aligners (meaning you don't get to create more aligners if the desired result is not achieved). However, it may be possible in your situation as the relapse does not seem severe (although it is difficult to assess based on the photographs you have provided). With some creative designing and treatment planning in the Invisalign process, a satisfactory result may be possible for you. Ask yourself what is important. Is it the cost, time or result? If cost and time is equally important as the result, then using Invisalign express may be a worthwhile treatment option.

Sorry to hear that it is time for another round of treatment, but fortunately, you have the option of Invisalign!  In terms of your alignment, although it is not possible to fully determine what treatment is best from the pictures, it seems like you are likely eligible for a shorter course of Invisalign.  Keep in mind that many doctors do not use Invisalign Express 10 because of the lack of revisions and the limitations with movements in only 10 trays.  Hope that helps!
