The posted picture is a varicose vein of the forearm and this is unusual. See a vein specialist for a full venous evaluation. Most likely the varicose veins have formed due to a malfunction of one or more vein valves in this location. A venous ultrasound would be indicated.
Thank you for your question and the photo. I highly recommend a consultation with a cardiologist with an ultrasound to evaluate the cause of the varicosity. There are many reasons that can cause it on the upper extremity including trauma, a history of a central catheter or Paget-Schrotter's Syndrome. Hope this helps.
