Hello, When will the shininess improve? 4 months ago I had radio frequency mole removal, at the moment my scar is light pink and slightly shiny. This shininess is making the scar hard to cover with makeup as it is slightly atrophic too. When will this improve? I have been using silicone gel for 3 months. What are my treatment options and how long should I leave it before I do something? Would microneedling be of benefit? Thanks!

Answer: Vbeam laser treatment can be done to defusing the redness
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Moles can be removed with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

The point of a shave biopsy is to determine whether a mole is bad or not. Its purpose is not to remove the mole entirely. You will just follow this pigmented spot like you do your other moles and if it continues to grow and look abnormal it will be biopsied again on your next visit.
