I have really bad anxiety about skin cancer & noticing this today really freaked me out.. I’m going to see a dermatologist about it ASAP, but I’d love some reassurance in the meantime..

The point of a shave biopsy is to determine whether a mole is bad or not. Its purpose is not to remove the mole entirely. You will just follow this pigmented spot like you do your other moles and if it continues to grow and look abnormal it will be biopsied again on your next visit.
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. If necessary, this can be removed again with laser, radiowave or shave. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
