I was wondering if fillers were the best option for my upper eyelids. 37year old with inherited sad looking sunken eyes. I'm not into surgery for this so was wondering if fillers could help? I will be getting fillers for dark circles

Answer: Correcting Peri-orbital Holowness Surgery or fillers would be the worst choice in correcting the hollowness around the eye area. Your condition is purely genetic and is usually worsened after a pregnancy or weight loss. I have been correcting this condition for more than 27 years with the use of patient's own fat. Restoring lower eyelid and cheek volume as well as restoring volume in the eyebrow and the upper eyelid area, the eyes start to look completely normal and this results in a permanent and natural effect. You absolutely have to find a plastic surgeon who is well versed in fat grafting techniques in the face. This plastic surgeon should also have experience in fat grafting to the periorbital area. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery

Answer: Treating Sunken Upper Eyelids Unfortunately, the first thing you need is a diagnosis. If all you have is congenital lack of fat in the upper lids, then either fillers, as a tool to determine exactly what you need, or, better, fat transfer would correct the problem. However, you may have congenital ptosis (drop) of the eyelids and are elevating the normal fat using the frontalis muscles trying to keep the lids up. If this is the case, you need a ptosis procedure. Once that is completed, you can then reevaluate the need for more fullness. Make sure you see a plastic surgeon or occuloplastic surgeon who can properly evaluate you and help you with whatever you need.
