What procedures will give the appearance of a shorter mid-face and provide overall balance? (photos)

Question

My midface is kinda long and honesty I don't know what cause it-maybe my philtrum/nose are too long or maybe my maxilla and cheekbones are too much downwarded. I heard that midface shortening is impossible but I want to know what can be done. From profile my face has vertical growth and I have gummy smile. I attach photos.

Your overall facial proportions are very good. You should investigate possible filler treatments to help give you a more chiseled look. You may want to consult with a maxillofacial surgeon as they are the ones that would perform any surgical procedures to shorten the midface.

If you say you have a gummy smile, there is no photograph to show the extent of it. In general, when people talk about shortening of the mid face, it is the maxilla (the bone that carries upper teeth) is what's reduced and this creates a less gummy smile. Looking from the photographs that you did submit, it appears that your proportions are quite good. The only thing that I saw that you may be interested in is creating more projection in the chin area. This can be done with fillers. You need to be evaluated in person by a plastic surgeon or a maxilo-facial surgeon. I hope this helps and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
