Possible burn after Obagi Blue Radiance Peel (Photo)

Question

I was on nu derm 3 week and dermatologist recommended blue radiance peel . She said it mild one but in evening I developed pigmentation and superficial burn. I called her today she advised using hydroquinon 4% twice a day , sun screen and hydrate. Also advice I use retinal at night. Can somebody advice will it get better and also should I see a different person for treatment ? Really worried an upset

Avoid the sun. Immediately, start Melarase AM and Melarase PM followed by Melapads to help reduce the PIH associated with the peels. Best, Dr. KaramanoukianLos Angeles

Sorry to hear about your complications. This has happened to even the best procedural dermatologist as PIH in darker skin types are commonly seen. I do agree with your dermatologist recommendation, obviously using the cream as tolerated - meaning go as hard as one should, without skin irritation. IMO anyone performing peels, lasers, filers, Botox or surgery should deal with their own complications - it is just good, ethical medicine. I wish you well. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
