Why is my breast indented when I lay down? (Photo)

Hello,It appears that with your implants placed over the muscle and saline or soft silicone, you are seeing collapse of the outer shell with this change in positioning. The same collapse/rippling of outer shell can often be seen through thinner portions of the breast at the bottom and sides with change in body position. It would be interesting to know the exact type of implants that you have, but they are probably a version with pretty soft gel. Over the last three years your breast tissues have surely got thinner, which leaves the implants slightly more exposed. Together with some stretching of the skin, this is the most likely cause of the dent you can see. Replacing the implants with new, highly cohesive and possibly anatomical ones should help. It is difficult to say without an examination, but you could also consider a small increase in size and projection at the same time, with or without a capsulorraphy depending on the exact situation.

The appearance of your breasts is related to the shape of the breast implant;  it becomes especially visible when you lie down. Given that your breast implants are in the sub glandular position, the indentation at the top of the breast implant is more visible than it might if the breast implants were placed in the sub muscular position. In the past, I have treated these types of problems with the use of higher filled breast implants, capsulorraphy (closing the space/volume around the breast implant), and/or sub muscular re-augmentation surgery.
