Macslift 4 days ago -discharged after 2 days with voltaren and panadol as well as antibiotics. Any suggestion?

Hi there. It sounds as if everything has gone well so far which is great. MACS lists are generally very effective and relatively non-invasive for a face-lift. The concern with anti-inflammatories is that they increase the likelihood of bleeding. However, this is just anecdotal and there is no concrete evidence that bleeding complications are increased. In fact, there are many benefits from using anti-inflammatory medication in the first few days after a face-lift - reduced swelling and reduced pain for starters. I hope the rest of your post-operative experience continues to go well.  

Dear etrini:The use of medications for post-operative discomfort and / or pain is as much an art and science as the surgeon and surgery itself. Panadol (acetaminophen, tylenol) is a mainstay for all discomfort. Voltaren (diclofenac) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID. Like aspirin, naprosyn or ibuprofen, it may increase the potential for bruising and bleeding. I prefer the use of:acetaminophen for mild to moderate discomfortnarcotic such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone for moderate to severe painanti-histamine for histamine induced swelling reduction and sedation such as Vistaril (hydroxyzine) benzodiazepine such as Valium (diazepam) for longer term sedation.Each medication and combination of medications use has its benefits and shortcomings. Medication selection and their usage must be weighed individually for the patient by the physician. Please consult with your operating surgeon directly with your concerns. All the best!
