Thanks for the question. I don't recommend patients under the age of 18. I advise my patients to have vaser liposuction after this age. I wish you all the best.
Liposuction can be done safely on those who are 17, but it may not always be the best choice. You still may be having some hormonal changes that will affect your body. Right now, focus on proper diet and exercise. After a few more years, if your trouble areas have not changed, then see a plastic surgeon to discuss your options.
Typically for safety reasons an elective cosmetic surgery needs to be put on hold until you're at least 18 years of age. You are still growing into your body and to alter it too soon can be more detrimental than beneficial. Try to hold off until you're of age and then contact a board certified plastic surgeon for a consult on the surgery you'd like.Thank you for question!
There are no absolute rules about when it's appropriate to do cosmetic surgery on minors. It's really a case-by-case basis. There are certainly times when someone much younger than yourself may benefit dramatically from a non-insurance-based procedure. That said, at this point, you would need to be an exceptional candidate and have a few or no alternatives for any surgeon to encourage you to have a procedure. In a sense, it's not so much your desire but your need. Some people have fat distributions that are grossly abnormal. This could, for instance, keep someone from properly fitting in clothing. In a case such as that, it may be appropriate to undergo liposuction regardless of age.I suggest you consult with one or more senior, experienced, board-certified plastic surgeons with one or both of your parents. You can get informed and be reassured as to if this procedure would potentially help you in the future.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
I feel great care and thought has to be exercised by any responsible surgeon, especially when it involves minors. A great deal can change with your body over the next year, given the hormonal development you are likely still undergoing. Be patient, and wait another year or so, making certain that you are practicing a healthy lifestyle including proper diet and exercise.
This question is probably best addressed by your OB/GYN.I see no reason why the two procedures would be in conflict.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
Liposuction works very well on the inner side of the knee. All other areas around the knee are very difficult to treat regardless of technique.I suggest you consult in person with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon to find out what your options are.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
It appears you have answered your own question correctly.I would not rely on any treatment other than a tummy tuck. When the time is right for you, find an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon and have the procedure done correctly.Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
