Hi- I am currently on antidepressant Venlafaxine (generic brand for Effexor) and have read different things about being able to continue taking it and/or not to take it and discontinue two weeks prior to Tummy Tuck surgery. Can anyone verify this? I already talked to my surgeon, and feel I did not get a direct answer on this. Appreciate your input in advance.

Congratulations on your weight loss!! I do think you have small dogears on each side. This may resolve with conservative measures such as massage, but time will tell.

Yes it does! It forms a layer of scar tissue that sticks the skin down to the abdominal wall. The skin becomes swollen however and takes months for the circulation to reestablish itself and for the swelling to subside...I tell my patients that swelling is about 6 weeks and shaping about 6 months!!
