I just received a new crown replacement (left front tooth) and a veneer (right front tooth) to help match the crown. My dentist worked hat to get a close match but do they look too round? I have naturally smaller teeth and I'm concerned about them looking too wide/short/round for my mouth. My natural front teeth appeared slimmer. What do you think?
Answer: Smile was better before new crowns. The shape of the crowns is wrong and they can be reshaped. There is a gum issue on number 9. I would be tempted to do a cosmetic gingivetomy to creat a better smile line and allow for full smile without excessive gum exposure, it looks like you are limiting your smile. Answer: They do not look right to me. I would not have accepted this case from my lab technician. The anatomy of this crown and veneer are not correct. Their widths are excessive, and they do not have the shape that your natural teeth had before they were prepared for restorations. Did your dentist take pre-op photos and models and send them to the lab technician who was working on your case? This would have helped guide the technician on creating a more esthetic result. Something does not appear right on tooth # 9, and it may be related to the contour of the porcelain on this restoration.I would want any patient who is not happy with their work to contact me If I did the work so that I could have a chance to correct the concern. You should make an appointment with your dentist to talk about your crown and veneer.

Answer: Front crowns after invisalign Hi, Christine. Wow, you have come a long way with the invisalign. Congratulations! I don't find your new crown and veneer objectionable personally. You might want to think about the difference between your old look prior to the invisalign. It is hard to compare since the teeth have been straightened creating a different look. Not sure, but it is possible the teeth needed to be shaped a little more rounded in order to close gaps between the teeth at the gumline. This is often required after invisalign treatment. Hope this helps.

Answer: Size and shape of the teeth Hi:Overall the smile is nice, however one tooth is shorter than the other mainly due to the level of the gum. The width of the teeth might have been affected by the thickness of the restoration. You still might be able to have some minor adjustments done to make it look not as wide. Please contact your dentist and share your concerns.Best,Dr. Maddahi
