My knees are around 80% darker than my actual complexion on my legs, thus more noticeable, and it looks like a big dark patch rather than a more natural slightly dark knees that I usually see in people of ethnicity. I tried IPL laser, skin peels, hydroquinone creams and it seems to have only made it worse(darker). I'm looking for a skin lightening treatment that is effective and is scar/pigmentation free and that works relatively faster? Any suggestions? safe lasers, creams?

Answer: Improving Hyperpigmentation--lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, skin care, sun protection, Cosmelan
Great question and thank you for providing photos! I would recommend a series of chemical peels and microdermabrasion. Exfoliating the skin will lift the pigmentation but it will take time. Of course use SPF daily and you will want to be reapplying SPF if you plan on being exposed to the sun for...
Treatment of dark discoloration should include some light fractional
laser, covalent chemical peels, and topical therapy with a skin
brightener. In our office, we combine these modalities with Rapid
Exfoliation Protocols to lighten the skin.

This can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
