Dental crown seems to have weird taste after eating

Question

I am 16 weeks pregnant and have had a weird "taste" that seems to be coming from the area of my dental crown. I went to the dentist to have it checked and both the hygienist and the dentist said the crown and gums around the crown look healthy. The crown is not pulling away from the gums and they see no evidence of a crack/leak.

Hello,
In that case, if the gums and crown are healthy, it could be that the material that the crown was made from is giving you a weird taste, if it is a PFM crown [Porcelain Fused to Metal] this could be the issue. Again, given the fact that both the crown and gums are healthy, this could be what it is happening. Obviously, a periapical x-ray and a clinical evaluation are needed in order to confirm the diagnostics and prior to putting all the blame on the "crown material".
