I am 16 weeks pregnant and have had a weird "taste" that seems to be coming from the area of my dental crown. I went to the dentist to have it checked and both the hygienist and the dentist said the crown and gums around the crown look healthy. The crown is not pulling away from the gums and they see no evidence of a crack/leak.

Hi there...it just depends on how big the hole is and whether there is a cavity. Sometimes fillings fall out when a cavity develops underneath the filling. Your dentist will be able to tell once they can take an xray on the tooth. Hope this helps.

Most likely the bite has to be adjusted and make sure there is no grinding or clenching pressure on the crown as well. Please go back to your dentist right away to check the bite.
