Hello Doctors, I am struggling w/ under eye bags when smiling and discoloration. I've never had any procedures so need advice. 1. What would be the best treatment for my under eye bags that are not Botox or fillers? 2. What chemical peels would you suggest for my under eye discoloration? Thank you very much!
Answer: Effective Non-Surgical Treatments for Under-Eye Bags and Discoloration Addressing under-eye bags and discoloration can be challenging, but there are several non-surgical options you can consider: Treatment for Under-Eye Bags: Topical Treatments: Look for eye creams containing ingredients like caffeine, retinol, hyaluronic acid, or peptides. These can help reduce puffiness and improve skin elasticity. Microneedling: This procedure stimulates collagen production, which can improve skin texture and reduce the appearance of under-eye bags. Laser Therapy: Non-ablative laser treatments can tighten skin and improve the appearance of under-eye bags by stimulating collagen production. Radiofrequency Therapy: This non-invasive treatment uses heat to stimulate collagen and tighten the skin, which can help reduce the appearance of bags. Chemical Peels for Under-Eye Discoloration: Mild Peels: Consider peels with ingredients like glycolic acid or lactic acid, which are gentle enough for the delicate under-eye area and can help improve discoloration. TCA Peels (Trichloroacetic Acid): In lower concentrations, TCA peels can be effective for treating pigmentation issues, but they should be performed by a qualified professional to ensure safety. Additional Tips: Sun Protection: Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the delicate skin around your eyes from further discoloration. Healthy Lifestyle: Ensure adequate sleep, hydration, and a balanced diet, as these can significantly impact skin health. Consultation with a dermatologist or skincare specialist can provide you with personalized advice and the most appropriate treatment options based on your specific needs and skin type.

Answer: Microneedling Micro needling with either PRP or PDRN could help with softening the fine lines and lighten up discoloration under your eyes! But, if the discoloration under your eyes is more genetics, its going to be more harder to lighten.

Answer: Recommend doing a light CO2 laser to help tighten the skin under the eyes and help pigmentation. Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads can seriously improve surface sun damage and UV related pigmentation. After the laser, we expect redness for a few weeks as the skin improves. PRP and Hydrafacial enzyme facials can further improve skin quality after fractional co2. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
