I'm having Vaser on stomach, inner and outer thighs and have a trip planned 2 weeks later. Will the altitude affect anything? I worry about blood clots

Answer: Travel after liposuction There are a number of factors that influence the risk of blood clots (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolus). Surgery itself is a risk factor. Travel can increase this risk further. The risk of blood clots after travel is related to prolonged periods of immobilization with longer flights or car rides increasing the risk of blood clots. There are several individual factors that may increase your risk for blood clots and I would encourage you to discuss your travel plans with your surgeon.

Answer: Travel after surgery Long flights have a slightly increased risk for blood clots as do surgery. Long flights are considered six hours or more. Two weeks seems like a reasonable amount of time. Matshagstromm MD
