Sun exposure after Fraxel can lead to hyperpigmentation and sun damage .  Reoccurrence of freckles and sunspots can occur after Fraxel treatment depite all sun protection. Vigorous use of sunscreen, skin care and sun protection is needed to prevent further hyperpigmentation. Best, Dr. Emer

Sunscreen is not required indoors after Fraxel treatment. I do recommend my patients wear sunscreen anytime they are outdoors, and especially in the weeks post-Fraxel treatment I do encourage my patients to use plenty of sunscreen on the newly revealed and healing skin. 

Acne scarring requires a combination of lasers, fillers, microneedling/PRP, TCA cross for improvement. Fraxel does very well for acne scarring, but a combination approach is most successful. I suggest seeing an expert. Best, Dr. Emer.
