I have had my first botox procedure to treat forehead lines. The consultant suggested way too many units for Glabella area, though. I understand that the areas should be treated together and I am ready to have my forehead touched up but the Glabella area is still pretty frozen. Since the area is already treated can I do the forehead again without the Glabella area or do both need to be treated together every time? Thank you!
Answer: Glabella and forehead Hello and thank you for your question. A face to face consult and examination is always best however in this scenario we would advise treating the glabella and frontalis in combination to reduce the risk of heaviness. Please always seek treatment from a trained medical professional for any cosmetic treatment. Best wishes

Answer: Glabellar Lines / 11s / Frown Lines -- Neuromodulators (Botox/Dysport/Xeomin/Jeuveau), Fillers, Lasers, Microneedling/PRP For glabellar lines (or frown lines / "11" lines), we inject Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport into the muscle, causing the muscle to weaken and improving the appearance of the lines. These work by binding to receptors that send nerve signals for muscles to contract. Since your body makes new receptors and neurotransmitters all the time, it needs to be maintained otherwise the wrinkles will slowly return as the muscle regains function over time. Neurotoxins take 2 to 4 weeks to start working and lasts for up to 6 months. For deeper glabella lines or strong 11s, I use a combination of Botox with fillers, lasers and microneedling with PRP. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and expert in lasers and fillers. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Botox treatment You can elect to have different areas treated at different times, however for the sake of convenience most patients choose to have everything done at once. If the glabella area is still not moving I would recommend treating only the forehead at this time.

Answer: Botox Treatment Good Afternoon! Great question. If you still have little movement at the glabella, you most certainly can treat areas around which are moving. I sometimes have patients tell me that they only need a touch-up in one area, but another previously treated is good. You can customize Botox to fit your goals and needs. Injectors often treat the glabella and forehead together to achieve the most optimal outcome. But, you don't have to. Hope this helps!

Answer: Glabella Great question! In my experience, you can absolutely treat only the forehead especially because, you do not have much movement to the glabella area. Depending on the situation, you may or may not need to treat both areas if the glabella is not strong.
