NosebrokeI would be most interested to hear if your symptoms of itchiness has started most recently or from the beginning. If it has been since the placement then I would assume it would be due to irritation or surgical changes around a nerve. It is not clear if removing the implant will resolve this symptom. I am not sure if you have adequate donor site but implants can be exchanged for your own fatty tissue which may be a better option ultimately due to your unrelenting symptoms.
Dear nosebroke,I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Depending on the thickness of your skin this may be an option, however following a mastectomy this is considered "prepectoral" breast reconstruction as there is no breast fascia remaining. You should find a plethora of information on prepectoral reconstruction when searching this term. I have...
In general, smoking cessation is recommended for the entirety of the time that you are having reconstruction. Smoking greatly increases your risk of having all complications including skin necrosis, infection, and need for revision. At the minimum you will have to stop smoking 6 weeks prior to...
