I've been using 0.025% tretinoin cream for a year. I mix 2 rice grain size of tretinoin with moisturizer and apply every night. My face gets slight pink but minimal peeling. I had an IPL for telangactasia without stopping Retin A with no issues. I'm thinking about switching to smooth beam 1450nm diode laser for acne as well as v-beam laser for redness/telangactasia. Should I still stop Retin A for both lasers if I was fine with IPL?

Hyperpigmentation
is a possible side effect for many lasers including Smoothbeam however; in my
office I still treat darker skin types. First I have the patient use a type of
bleaching cream, the cream is meant to suppress the melanin production in
darker skin types. If you first treat the skin...
The Smoothbeam would be a great start and then you can keep up with the maintenance with at home treatments. I would recommend the at home peels and/ or one step acne eliminating pads. You want to continue exfoliating and shrinking the pores.
Smoothbeam is the only FDA approved laser for treatment of acne on the face and body. Also treats acne scars. This treatment has no pain and no downtime. This is an excellent treatment for hard to treat acne. The cost for Smoothbeam in my office starts at $450, depending on the area.
