Is there any downside for not getting lymphatic massages? I am 4 months post op tummy tuck and have not massaged my incision. I am afraid my scar tissue will not soften up and will be permanent now

Thanks for your question. Drains are normally removed about 7 days post-op during a follow-up meeting. When the drain is removed, you may start massaging to lessen any discomfort or swelling you are experiencing. Hope this helps,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Hi and thanks for the question. Lymphatic massage is truly beneficial after tummy tucks and liposuction. The maneuver helps your lymphatic channels to "open up"and drain excessive edema that surrounds your muscles and soft tissues. You can begin after 2-3 weeks and may continue for. 2-3 months....
Hello, i would recommend that you start between the 5th and 7th day and do a minimun of 10 sessions with a specialist on this type of massages. Best wishes.
