What can I do to fix scars from AviClear? It left pigment and indented scars. (photo)

I am 3 months post op from avi clear. My technician used the highest setting and it left pigment and indented scars from the pattern of the laser. How do I get rid of these scars? Is it possible to get them to fully go away?

Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started.

I'm really sorry that this has happened to you. I have been cautioning my regular followers for years to exercise a very healthy dose of "buyer beware" when contemplating the use of so many of the current, expensive "bells and whistles" laser, RF and other energy-based gizmo treatments that are so heavily hawked out there. Unfortunately, as you have learned the hard way, the hard science to support the use of these alluringly-named devices lags woefully behind the heavy marketing and sales hype and social media buzz to promote them. Sorry.  The ideal time frame for treating imminent scars is between one to three months following the cause, in this case following the last laser treatment session. Professionally performed manual microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling) can be quite helpful for improving superficial, surface irregularities in both texture and skin color. You would be wise to consult with an experienced board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.

The extent of improvement can vary based on the depth, size, and location of the scars, as well as your skin type and healing capacity.
