What will my breast reduction final size be?

Two weeks ago I underwent a breast reduction surgery, I was a 34DD before the surgery, I'm a small girl and my breasts were much to large for my frame. But coming out of surgery I can still fit literally all my old bras? It doesn't seem like anything has changed besides the placement of my nipples. I'm really upset and I know swelling can take a few months to subside, but I shouldn't I see some kind of difference by now? How long before I should start to panic..

Thank you for your question. You should ask your surgeon how many grams he/she removed from each breast.  Then you can determine how much was actually removed.  This is typically the process of weighing the tissue removed from each side to be as symmetrical as possible. I hope this helps!

you are too early after your breast reduction and there is likely a lot of swelling going on, so don't panic yet.As to how much smaller you will be, depends on how much your surgeon took off.  During your follow up visit you should be able to ask about how much tissue was removed in total.  Prior to your surgery, it is very important that you clearly explain to your surgeon your desired goals.  Although there is no 'cup sizer' that can be used during surgery, and no surgeon can guarantee you a particular cup size outcome, stating your desired cup size helps the surgeon understand how much smaller you wish to be and how much to remove.An experienced surgeon will then be able to properly plan the surgery and remove just the right amount of tissue to leave you with the size you are wishing for.

At two weeks you are likely very swollen.  You have to give it time to settle down. Not quite sure why you would not notice a size change even this early after surgery.

Don't panic!  At only 2 weeks out from surgery you are still swollen.  When doing a breast reduction there is only a certain amount of tissue that can removed based on how big of a pedicle (the tissue that keeps your areolar/nipple complex viable) your breasts need.  If the pedicle is made too small you have the risk of loosing your nipple.  The swelling can take up to around 6 months to subside, but is different for all patients.  The best thing for you to do is to see your Plastic Surgeon who can examine you and address all your concerns.  Good luck
