Accutane for oily skin and scalp acne, is 40mg per day for 30 days enough? I'm a 34 year old male.

Hi, I am a 34 year old male who never had bad acne or oily skin. About six months ago, I started having very oily hair and face, mild to moderate scalp acne, and seborrhea (scaliness in my eyebrows and t-zone). I weigh 75kg and was prescribed 40mg of Accutane for 30 days. My question is, is this amount sufficient for a long term cure? Thank you

This is most likely from the dryness in your skin, not the drug itself. It doesn't affect muscles or collagen. Remember that Accutane can also make you more sun sensitive. And it's from the sun that we get fine lines and wrinkles (over time). So make sure you are also wearing a good sunscreen...

Accutane can make you reactive to other products and therefore very irritated by them. If you are doing anything different to your skin, including adding in new products while taking Accutane, you need to always discuss it first with your prescribing physician. Stop what you are doing and see...

10mg every other week is below "low dosage". I would tell you that I would treat you, but would ask that you not take the medication for about 24 hours before any laser appointment. Only your treating office can decide what is ok with them, but I personally would have no issue with this. "This...
