34/F on isotretinoin for 6 months, taking my last dose in Jan 2020. I understand the medicine shrinks your oil glands, but I’ve read that the oil production returns to normal levels after you stop taking it. I was very oily before. It has been nearly two years and my skin is dull and dry. My hair is dull. Wearing contacts is uncomfortable. The skin under my eyes has tons of lines now. I take Zyrtec daily and take allergy shots - could this exacerbate the issue?

Acne requires a combination approach to get long-term improvement. I recommend a combination of Cosmelan, salt facials, peels, lasers, microneedling with PRP, blue light, radiofrequency and isotretinoin. I suggest getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
